Biology 101 Textbook and Coursepack (a.k.a. Lecture Notes):
Essential Biology (without Physiology), Campbell, Reece, Simon, 3rd ed. 2007. Pearson/ Benjamin Cummings ISBN 0-8053-6842-6
This book is also available as an e-book which can be obtained from the ISU Bookstore or on-line at http://www.coursesmart.com/0321544463/?a=1773944If you are an ISU student, the textbook can be obtained from any of the local bookstores. If you do not live in Ames, click on the link: "How to obtain the textbook" below.
There is also a Coursepack (Lecture Notes) that goes with the course. The coursepack contains the text portion of the lectures. The Coursepack is available in the University bookstore. If you do not live in Ames, you can obtain the Coursepack by following the same procedure used to obtain the textbook. These lecture notes are only outlines, to get the full story you need to listen to the lecture. The lecture outlines are set up to go into a 3 ring binder with the printed page on the left so that you can easily (if you are right-handed) add your own notes as you go along. I strongly recommend getting the Coursepack; it is cheaper than if you printed out the notes from your computer and much less time consuming.
Special Note: Since the course pack is not required Iowa high school students enrolled under the PSEOA need to purchase the Course pack if they want it.
