Getting started with WebCT.

Distance Education Students (Non-traditional students and high school students.):

After you have registered for the course you should receive information regarding your enrollment. Part of this information will be your Student ID. You will use your Student ID to establish your Network Identification (a.k.a. NetID). You will use your NetID to log into WebCT. To establish your NetID go to

https://asw.iastate.edu/cgi-bin/acropolis/register

You will be asked to provide information including your your Student ID number that you received. Notice that the site has clickable icons and that you can use if you need help.

After you have established your NetID wait for a couple of days so that your NetID can be registered then try to log into WebCT. If your NetID has been registered you should be taken to your WebCT "myWebCT" course listing page and this course should be listed. If this course does not appear don't panic. This probably means the the instuctor has not yet downloaded the class list into the course. You can either wait another day or two and try again or email your instructor for more information.

 

Traditional on-campus students (Students who would normally attend face-to-face classes on the Iowa State campus.) will or should already have a NetID so all that is needed is to go to the WebCT login page.
